La Plaza en Verano presents INTRODUCING THE STAR, SALFUMÁN and DERIVA MEET WITH THE GENDER [X]-DJ SET.
Introducing the star. The Golden Creature Introducing the Star is a project that mutates as fast as a strain of Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Until now it has presented itself as consisting solely of dance, a YouTube music channel, a filmed diary and an electronic music album. For Matadero Madrid’s La Plaza en Verano it will take the shape of a recital.

Blending telepathic narration, mythological images and alien song, it will tell the tale of the arrival of the Golden Creature to the land of the choir singers. Artists: Pablo Esbert Lilienfeld and Federico Vladimir Strate Pezdirc

Die Katapult Emerging triumphant in the part of Primavera Sound that actually allows for intimacy – not even a pin would have fit in their small tent – they got the entire audience dancing with their electronic beats, unerring bass lines and German lyrics, to such an extent that, from a distance, the people nearly brought the (makeshift) house down. This summer we expect no less.
Deriva- Meet with the gender[x]- dj set Deriva is a musical project by Natalia Piñuel, cultural producer at Playtime
Audiovisuales and coordinator of the She Makes Noise Festival. She will share some playful and aesthetic music sessions with the audience, never losing sight of the relevant discursive framework in regard to the content of these sessions.

For this edition of Matadero Madrid’s La Plaza en Verano, she has put together a cross-cutting and subversive voyage that will take us from the pioneering sounds of electronic music to the feminist flow, in addition to the very latest noise, underpinned by contemporary sound creation in terms of gender, with gender construed as a contemporary concept in which female artists, the trans/queer movement and similarly fluid concepts can come together without restrictions, moving to a so-called post-gender appropriate for today’s society.
